Mr. Adrian Bryttan
ADRIAN
BRYTTAN brings many years of experience to the podium, having
conducted many of the important opera companies and symphony orchestras in the United States, Europe, and Korea, including Chicago Opera
Theater, Bielefeld Theater, Lviv National Opera and
the Seoul Philharmonic. In addition to the standard operas of Mozart, Verdi,
Puccini and Wagner, he is equally at home in works such as Ravel's "L'Heure espagnole" and
Strauss' "Ariadne auf Naxos".
Known for his range and versatility, Bryttan has
conducted the world premiere of Ludmila Ulehla’s opera “Sybil”, as well as many Broadway musicals
and silent film scores with orchestra. Following an international career as
violin soloist and concertmaster, his command of the symphonic repertoire at
the podium encompasses orchestral works from the baroque period up through
Shostakovich, Bartok, Britten, Stravinsky and includes
numerous contemporary composers such as Gunther Schuller and Ellen Taaffe Zwilich. Maestro Adrian Bryttan
has served as a member on the music faculties of several conservatories and in
2005 was honored with a Fulbright International Scholar Award.
