Dr. Kenneth Laudermilch
DR.
KENNETH LAUDERMILCH is the Music Director of the New
Holland Band, the second oldest municipal band in the United States. Prior to his appointment to this historic
band, he served as Professor of Instrumental Music in the School of Music at
West Chester University for thirty-eight years where he directed the University
Wind Ensemble and Chamber Winds, taught trumpet, and directed the elementary,
middle-school and high school summer music workshops and camp. Recently he was appointed Professor
of trumpet at F&M
College. As a performer, Laudermilch
served as Principal Trumpet of the Delaware Symphony Orchestra and has served
as a Substitute Trumpet with the Philadelphia Orchestra .
For the last thirty-five years has performed as Principal Trumpet of the
Westminster Brass, a Philadelphia based brass quintet which has performed in
over sixty cities throughout the United States and Canada. Dr. Laudermilch
resides in New Holland with his wife, Nancy, and their son, Keith. His firm belief is that music is a gift to be
appreciated sometimes for its sheer beauty but most often for its occupation of
consoling, uplifting and encouraging the human spirit and ultimately to bring
glory to God.
